Our Review

Saily is the newcomer that has caught our attention. Launched in 2023 by Nord Security — the company behind NordVPN — it brings strong privacy credentials and a polished user experience to the eSIM market. The app is clean, modern and arguably the best-designed of any provider we have tested. If you value a slick interface and care about data privacy, Saily immediately appeals.

On pricing, Saily holds its own against Airalo. Some destinations are cheaper with Saily, others with Airalo — the differences are usually small. The fact that all Saily plans support tethering is a meaningful advantage, particularly over Holafly. For travellers who need to share their connection with a laptop while working remotely, this is a genuine differentiator.

The main concern with Saily is simply its youth. With just two years of operation, they lack the extensive track record of Airalo or Holafly. Fewer user reviews make it harder to judge long-term reliability. That said, the Nord Security backing provides confidence that the company has the resources and expertise to support the product. If they continue expanding their destination list, Saily could become a serious challenger to Airalo within the next year or two.

Saily vs Alternatives

Saily sits between Airalo and Holafly in the market. Their pricing is close to Airalo and sometimes beats it on specific destinations. The privacy credentials from Nord Security set them apart from all other providers. Compared to Ubigi, Saily has a better app experience but fewer destinations. The main question mark is longevity — as a 2023 launch, they lack the years of proven reliability that Airalo has built up.

Yes, Saily is built by Nord Security, the same company behind NordVPN, NordPass and NordLocker. They are a well-established technology company based in Lithuania with millions of users worldwide.

Can you tether with Saily?

Yes, all Saily plans support tethering and hotspot sharing. This is one of Saily's advantages over competitors like Holafly, which restricts tethering on most plans.

Is Saily cheaper than Airalo?

Pricing varies by destination. Saily is competitive with Airalo and sometimes cheaper for specific countries. For other destinations, Airalo may have the edge. We recommend comparing both for your specific trip.

Does Saily work on Android phones?

Yes, Saily works on most Android phones that support eSIM, including recent Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel and OnePlus devices. Check the Saily app for a full list of compatible devices.

Does Saily include a VPN?

No, Saily is a standalone eSIM product. While it is built by the same team as NordVPN, the eSIM service does not include VPN functionality. You would need a separate NordVPN subscription for that.

How is Saily's customer support?

Saily offers customer support through the app and email. Response times are generally reasonable, though not 24/7 like Holafly. As a newer provider, their support infrastructure is still developing.

Does Saily offer data top-ups?

Saily allows you to purchase additional plans for the same destination if your data runs out. The process is straightforward through the app, though it requires installing a new eSIM profile in some cases.

Is Saily available for my country?

Saily covers approximately 150 countries. While this is fewer than Airalo (200+), it includes all major tourist destinations. Check the Saily app to confirm coverage for your specific destination.

How does Saily protect my privacy?

Can I use Saily on my iPad or tablet?
